Skittles, Crack and Cozy Mysteries. Another Mrs B bite sized book review

I follow an author by the name of A R Winters. And I’ve read 37 of her books. That’s right THIRTY SEVEN.The thing about cozy mysteries is that they are an easy read. They are usually between 200 to 300 pages long and run to a formula. There’s a murder, somewhere in the first quarter of the book. The murderer is usually revealed within the last 20%. There’s no sex or swearing but there is some light hearted romance. A very easy, light read.So where do the skittles and crack come in? The thing about drugs and confectionary is that they’re addictive. Long term they’re not particularly good for your physical health. The books by Winters are addictive, I keep reading them because I want to find out who the murderer is. They’re easy to pick up and put down without having to remember too much of the story or who’s who. You know what your getting and they fill a spot until you find the next book you can bury yourself in. The characters are also likeable. All of the books by this author are on Kindle Unlimited. For a small fee each month you can borrow up to 10 books at a time. The books can also be bought. You can find book one to her latest series Here. Via that link you can also access her other books. As always this is an affiliate link and if you buy something through this link, I will get a few dollars or cents. So if you want a book that’s easy to read and isn’t too taxing on your mind give these a go.Also, DON’T DO CRACK.

Chick Lit noir and chocolate. – A Mrs B bite sized book review

When I came up with the idea of reviewing books and comparing them to food I knew immediately which ones would be Dark salted caramel chocolate.

The debut series from Andrene Low is every thing the chocolate offers. Dark, Rich and full of flavour.

The books centre around 3 main characters, Sam, Jennie and Brenda. The other reoccurring characters in the books add some salty sweetness to the plot.

Each of the books can be read in their own right. I did enjoy reading them in order.

So, away from the chocolate the other themes in the books include, revenge, love and life in the 70’s.

This series is a great read. The slightly dark and salty edge to the lives of these 3 women is thoroughly deserving of the genre Chick Lit Noir.

Hello, again.

Well here we go again…. I’m writing another blog!

I cant remember the last time I started one.

I do know it included the phrase “I have a bit more time to focus on some writing.” Reader, I did not.

But, now, NOW, I do have some time. Well I’m making time.

So what’s the plan? I want to write regularly.

To start with I’m going to write a little about what I’ve been up to recently. There’s a whole change of life, mental health and parenting journey I want to cover.

Also, when I’m not writing about myself I’ll throw in a few book reviews. In the interests of full disclosure I’ll be posting affiliate links with my reviews. This means that if you buy something from that link I will get a small percentage of the amount you paid.

See you again soon and I hope your Sunday has been going ok!
